• iContinuing education (iCE) on Viral Hepatitis is an online self-study education programme run by the Viral Hepatitis Control Office, Department of Health.
• It aims at providing a selection of free, regularly updated continuing education activities on viral hepatitis and related subjects for doctors, nurses, other health professionals and workers.
• The content may include updates in prevention and treatment, practice guidelines/ recommendations, surveillance reports, meeting presentations, etc.
• iCE activities will be uploaded regularly, around 1 to 2 per year.
• Each activity consists of two parts:
  • ( 1 ) reading an article or educational material related to viral hepatitis, and
  • ( 2 ) answering 10 multiple choice questions.
• Each iCE activity takes approximately one hour.

Assessment

• Participants have to submit the completed answer sheet within the specified validity period for Continuing Medical Education (CME) / Continuing Nursing Education (CNE) / Post-registration Education in Midwifery (PEM) accreditation, by email to hepatitis@dh.gov.hk.
• Score of 70% or above is required for accreditation of CME/CNE/PEM point.
• Assessment result will be informed by email by the 7th working day of next month.
• Model answers will be sent to participants who have passed the assessment.
• Retake of assessment is allowed within the specified validity period.

Accreditation

• For doctors who have enrolled in the “Continuing Medical Education (CME) Programme for Practising Doctors who are not taking CME Programme for Specialists”, one CME point is accredited for each iCE activity.
• For specialists, please refer to the test paper of individual iCE activity for the credit point accredited by each College of the Hong Kong Academy of Medicine.
• For nurses, please refer to the test paper of individual iCE activity for the CNE and PEM point awarded.
